Spotlight: RoyalScape - A History

In 2008, an anonymous person, nick-named Ghostly, found an interest in private servers and decided to try to make one. At first he did not know very much about how a server should be coded or how it even works. After about a year of coding, he decided it was time to host it online. With the help of a few others, he managed to do so, and by November 13, 2009 Royalscape was officially online. Later that year Royalscape had its very first seasonal event. By that time, over 100 players had created accounts on RoyalScape.

A lot of coding has gone into the server Royalscape using the Java programming language. At first, Ghostly did not understand how the language worked and had to visit Moparscape.org constantly to get help with a problem he had with the server. Now a lot has changed since then and Ghostly is quite understanding of how the Java programming language works and can easily make a change to the server if needed.

Royalscape has had a good many of quality players and staff during its first session of being online. Some of these users include but not limited to: Ilovemymom, Faber, Nickita85, etc. The server owner, Ghostly is quoted: "What I look for in choosing staff is the quality of the player, not how much they donated to the server, I look for someone who will really make a positive difference in Royalscape."

Since its uptime, Royalscape has had problems that made hosting difficult. Ghostly could not host the server at all times and so a few of Royalscape's players tried to offer to host the server whenever Ghostly could not. One of those players was called, Ilovemymom, who committed a lot into the server. Others like him, have tried to offer to host when eventually hosting got the best of him, but none could really do it. So therefore, Royalscape was back to its original host, Ghostly.

Royalscape has been kept online hosted by the owner for two years until it was eventually taken down. The server was not being updated and was running on very old coding. Many players did not like that Royalscape was going offline and a few tried to make their own servers. It was then that the owner Ghostly realized how much the server really was stil good. Even so, Royalscape remained offline for a time and Ghostly would in his spare time, work on coding a new Royalscape. It was during this time he dicided to make Royalscpae a non-profit organization.

Royalscape's mission is to create a positive difference in the gaming world by creating a safe, fun server for anyone to enjoy. At Royalscape all players are treated as equal to another. Our goal is to go inte
